Vent Heaters

Try these Vent Heaters for Staying Warm

“These vent heaters are really powerful!”

There are two main schools of thought on heating. Those for vent heaters and those that prefer vent free heating systems. It’s impossible to say which is better than the other, but it may be possible to determine which one is the best for your application.

For those that want to stick with the heaters with an actual vent, you should look into Rinnai. They have been manufacturing these appliances for years and are skilled in the field. They have several direct vent sealed units available. One of their best selling models is the RHFE-201FA. It’s a stylish little unit that is really designed for smaller spaces. A great place to put it is underneath a desk in a cold warehouse. If you want larger, look into their 263 model line.

Are you looking for gasoline or propane powered units? Luckily, Rinnai offers both so you can really get whichever type you want. Their 431 and 556 series are both larger units than the 200 series, so they are designed for serious heat. They have all kinds of features, including a special LED display for controlling the actual temperature, along with a lock designed to keep children away.

Another great company that manufactures these types of heating systems is Moniter. Just like Rinnai, they offer the choice of propane or natural gas. One of their most popular models is the Model GF 1800, which is comparable to the midsize Rinnai models listed above, meaning it is perfect for heating a single room (as opposed to just an individual or an entire house).

If you prefer vent free, then you have plenty of other options, as many companies make and offer these in several different styles. There is garage, infrared, radiant, hydronic, solar, kerosene, and commercial. Procom, Mr. Heater, and Charmglow all specialize in direct ventless units, while manufacturers like Hamilton, Maxx, Trane, Qmark, Menards, and Reddy specialize in the other styles. So whatever you do end up getting, just be sure it’s for the right space. You wouldn’t want to get a small under desk unit and hope it works in an industrial application.
